One of the most popular among the chemical compounds within the tea leaf is cathecin. This is a strong antioxidant, stronger than ascorbic acid, betacarotenes, or tocopherol. Within the tea leaf, there are several kinds of cathecin. Those are epigallo cathecin-gallate (EGCG), epigallocathecin (EGC), epicathecin-gallate (ECG), gallocathecin, and cathecin itself. More often we consume cathecin, its concentration in our body will increases, so our body is avoided from any kinds of cancer.
